The gas producing dry cell has the size of an ordinary hearing-aid battery. It uses electro-chemical principles to generate hydrogen gas or oxygen gas. Compared to its modest size, it generates a remarkable volume of gas, which is delivered on demand, without the need of an external energy source. The cell is very suitable for economically delivering liquids and pasteous substances, and as a source of hydrogen gas, respectively oxygen gas.
The cell is activated through an electric short-cut of the two external poles, thus starting the gas production. The gas volume in relation to time is defined through an external resistor (Ra). The higher the resistor setting is, the slower is the gas production, which is in direct relation to the electric power flowing through the cell. If the circuit is interrupted, the gas production stops instantly.
